What styles of family photography do you offer?

We offer a range of photography styles and are more than happy to discuss different options with you to find the best style to suit your family:

Studio shoots

Our studio shoots take place in our well-equipped, comfortable studio in Tawa, Wellington. For family studio shoots, we'll often start with a few formal photos, before working with you to bring out your family's natural personality and energy.

On location or at your home

We can also organise family and children's photography sessions at a location of your choice, or in your own home. These shoots tend to be more relaxed and spontaneous.

Candid photography

We love candid photography shoots, where we stay in the background and shoot unobtrusively, capturing those priceless moments as they happen. Candid event coverage works really well for children's parties or other special occasions.

Works of art

We can also create moody or dramatic portraits, using lighting to change the mood of the picture and create beautiful works of art.

How to get the most from my studio shoot

1) We recommend bringing a change of clothes. Since we normally take between 30 minutes to one hour for a photo shoot, we can use different clothes, backgrounds and lighting effects to create a variety of moods and photo styles during that time.

2) Bring the usual items you would carry for a day out, such as snacks, games and favourite toys. You can also bring along a few props to include in the photos: favourite costumes or toys that show off your child's personality.

3) Don't worry if your child isn't smiling for the whole shoot. It's good to capture a variety of expressions and moods and even a sleeping baby can make a great portrait. Our aim is to make you feel relaxed and at ease, so we can capture your family's true personality and character.

What happens after my photo shoot?

About two weeks after your photo session we'll invite you to the studio to view your photographs. We can help you select your favourites and advise on the best ways to display your photos. There is no obligation to purchase or pressure to buy. Once you have made your decision we'll order the images for you and arrange delivery of your beautiful new photos.
